Manos Rovithis

Manos Rovithis (Greek-Canadian, 1927 - 1998) with a cosmopolitan background, was known for his paintings of the Greek islands and seaside locales.

Born in Athens but raised in Paris where attended the Grande Chaumiere Art School, Manos Rovithis then moved to Canada in the 1960s where he attended the University of Western Ontario to further his studies. His paintings often depict scenes from the Greek islands and Parisian streets with impasto by use of a palette knife.
