A rare, exceptional, and extraordinary antique sterling silver berry scoop manufactured by Chawner & Co which was owned by George William Adams whose mark graces the scoop. From our independent appraiser

"The heavy cast scoop with a plain polished bowl, with reverse profusely chased with fruiting vines, the chased handle adorned with trailing grapevine motifs, including clusters of grapes and intertwining leaves, the reverse decorated in complement, and with a cartouche engraved with a crest of a cockerel."

Marks include Lion passant, leopard head uncrowned, F, illegible, GA, which identifies this piece as London 1881, Chawner & Co.
