Miriam Haskell (1899 - 1981) founded her namesake company in 1926 in New York City, which firm grew into a costume jewelry powerhouse through endorsements and clientele from celebrities, royalty, and discriminating consumers. The firm was known for its creative, quality, and impressive jewelry, and still operates today. Jewelry before 2002 is most collectable due to the introduction of mass produced low quality jewelry made for mass markets.
