Michel Dureuil

Michel Dureuil was a French painter affiliated with the Nouvelle École de Paris. Born in Paris on June 28, 1929, he studied industrial drawing at the École de Dessin Professionnel, and later trained at the École des BeauxArts under Jean Dupas and Edmond Heuzé.

He is best known for his luminous harbor scenes, particularly of the Mediterranean coast, painted in the 1950s and 1960s. His work features high viewpoints, vibrant colors, and strong sunlight. He exhibited in Paris and London,including at Galerie André Weil and Arthur Tooth & Sons.

Dureuil died April 9, 2011.
