George William Adams
George William Adams (British, 19th C.) was an important silversmith working in London as owner and manager of Chawner & Co, a leading silver house of the 19th C. The company appeared at the Great Exhibition of 1851, and supplied important retailers with branded and house branded flatwares. Its silverware is highly collectible. Adams operated the company from 1840 to 1883 at which time he sold it to Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater.
