Billy Mack Steele

Billy Mack Steele (1941 - 2023) was an American regional artist and Cherokee who depicted cultural and historical themes of the Cherokee people. He flourished in the southeast as a self taught artist who promoted American Indian values through art. He won numerous awards and competitions for his work, primarily watercolors and sculpture, some of which are housed in Trail of Tears Museum at New Echota, the Ocmulgee Museum or the Music Hall of Fame in Macon, Georgia, and numerous private collections.
